Xinyi District is Taipei's premier district — home to Taipei 101, the city's financial and lifestyle epicenter, and some of Taiwan's most sought-after residential and commercial real estate. Designing interiors here means working within the constraints of high-density urban living while delivering the elegance owners expect at this address.
At Taisi Interior Design, our studio is based in Xinyi District. We design here every day. Below, we share what makes Xinyi interior design uniquely challenging — and how we approach it.
1. Vertical Living, Limited Floor Plates
Most Xinyi residences are mid- to high-rise condominiums. Floor plates are typically 25–50 ping (~85–165 m²). Every square foot matters. In The Zenith Residence, we removed every non-load-bearing partition to merge living, dining, and kitchen into a single fluid public zone — a move that visually expanded the apartment far beyond its actual footprint.
2. The Daylight Premium
Xinyi towers are dense — neighboring buildings often block direct sun for hours of the day. Our design strategy maximizes the light you have: lighter palette, reflective surfaces, fewer barriers between rooms, mirrors strategically placed at hallway ends. Every Xinyi project starts with a daylight study.
3. Soundproofing and HVAC Realities
City life means street noise, neighbors above and below, and HVAC systems that need rerouting around irregular floor plans. We coordinate with building management early — many Xinyi condos have strict renovation hours and noise rules. Our project managers handle permits, neighbor notifications, and elevator scheduling.
4. The Xinyi Aesthetic
Xinyi clients tend to value quiet luxury over loud display. The neighborhood's design vocabulary leans toward warm neutrals, imported stone, custom millwork, and integrated technology. The Crest Estate exemplifies this — premium imported stone surfaces, custom-fabricated atmospheric lighting, and spatial configuration optimized for both daily living and entertaining.
5. Commercial Spaces in Xinyi
Not all Xinyi design is residential. The district's commercial real estate — offices, restaurants, retail — competes on first impressions. Our Taiwan Jury Association Headquarters project (in Xinyi) balanced public reception areas with executive privacy through zoned circulation design and high-grade soundproofing for confidential meetings.
What Xinyi Interior Design Costs
Xinyi premium residential design typically runs higher per ping than other Taipei districts — partly due to material specifications, partly due to renovation logistics (building rules, elevator restrictions, neighbor coordination). Budget realistically and allow contingency for the unexpected discoveries common in older Xinyi buildings.
Working with a Local Studio
Working with a designer who knows Xinyi means fewer surprises. We've handled building manager negotiations across multiple Xinyi condominiums. We know which suppliers deliver reliably to the district. We know which permits move fast and which stall. Schedule a consultation to discuss your Xinyi project — our studio is in Xinyi too, so we're a short walk away.
